10 Unique Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

January 18, 2019 By Dani

Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Valentine’s is a fun day to go out with your significant other! If you are like my husband and me, our regular dates consist of going to dinner or seeing a movie, but I always love for our Valentine’s date to be extra special! Coming up with unique date ideas is always fun and spontaneous. Below I will dive into some fun, unique Valentine’s date ideas!

 Unique Valentine's Date Ideas Printable

Escape Room

Escape rooms are always so thrilling! You can go with a group, or just as a couple and then be put in a group. Each room has a theme and clues to solve in order to escape the room. One room we went to had a zombie in it! It was so scary and so fun!

Paint Night

Valentine's Paint Night Date

This date is so fun to bring out your creativity and to do something new with each other! When you do something new with your partner, you create memories and a stronger bond. And with a paint night you have something beautiful to take home. To find a paint night location near you, click here.

Outfit Swap and Photo Booth

This is a great one if you are on a small budget. Go to the mall and pick out outfits for your partner, as they pick out outfits for you. Change in separate rooms and make the big reveal to each other and see how they did picking out your outfit! After the fun and giggles, go to the photo booth and take fun pictures to take home! Or use your phone to photos and add exciting effects.

Dress up and Go Out

Valentine's Dinner Date

This is an enjoyable date that is a step above just going out to dinner! It’s so fun to dress up for a special Valentine’s date and go out on the town to a favorite restaurant! When I dress up, I feel fancy and enjoy a fun drink and appetizer, along with a nice meal and possibly dessert!

Geocaching

This is a fun, adventurous date! This is more of a day-time activity. You use your phone to find little treasures hidden around. There is an easy to use app called Geocaching that will connect to your phone’s phone’s GPS to locate these treasures. This is essentially a fun, little treasure hunt. If you bring something of equal or greater value, you can switch out the treasure. This is also a great date for a limited budget.

Chocolate Tasting

Valetine's Day Chocolate Date

This is so fun to do because who doesn’t expect chocolate on Valentine’s Day! I’m sure you could find a little chocolate shop with a variety of treats,  but I like to hop around to different stores and get all different kinds of yummy chocolate. You could also do this with chocolate chip cookie shops! Just go to Google and type in, “chocolate candy shops near me”.

Nickel Arcade

This date idea is another one for a fun night. Get lots of tokens and see what prizes you can walk away with! Playing fun games with your partner with spark that fun-loving spirit, and there will be lots of time to flirt and show off your skills!

Skating/Laser Tag/Bowling

Valentine's Day Bowling date

If you and your partner are in the mood for something more fun and lighthearted, laser tag, bowling, and skating will win the night! They are also less likely to be busy on Valentine’s since most people are going to dinner. Bringing out your playful side will be a great end to the night!

Overnight Getaway

Want to go all out this Valentine’s? Surprise your partner with a romantic overnight getaway! You can usually find great deal at this time of year between hotels or Airbnb. Some locations have fun getaways like Anniversary Inn, that has fun themed hotel rooms. Perfect for an overnight getaway.

Stay in

Valentine's Dinner Date

This is a great idea if you don’t want to deal with the crowds. There are plenty of fun things to do right in your own home! After all, Valentine’s is for time with your loved one. You could make dinner with your partner, light a few candles, and get special dinnerware. Make something fancy or go with a more fun menu like fondue.

One thing that will boost the romance is to make a fun game using dice and a poster board. Create squares of things you and your partner are comfortable doing: foot massage, shoulder rub, kiss for 2 minutes, dance to your favorite song, remove a certain clothing item, etc. You can come up with as many or as few intimate things as you want! It’s exciting to see what square you roll on!

Or you could always have a fun movie marathon, eating fun snacks!

Whatever you choose to do this Valentine’s Day, enjoy your significant other! Make sure to tell us in the comments if you have tried any of these and what you will be planning this Valentine’s!
