When it’s summer there are so many fun birthday ideas. Pool parties, water parks, or outdoor bounce house parties are just a few. The fun in the sun is endless. So, what about the cooler months for the birthday kids? I have two summer birthdays and one February birthday, so I know how this is. I put together five fun places to take your kids for birthdays they will always remember. It might not be the water party, but these are just as fun.
Bowling Party: Jack and Jill Bowling
This is by far the easiest birthday party I’ve ever thrown. It is perfect for boys and girls. It’s a great price and they supply pizza, cake, plates, cups, sodas. You get to do a bowling game, have arcade time, and even play laser tag. They have two locations in American Fork and Lehi.
I love how the kids leave with something from the arcade. As a mom, you can sit back and relax and let the staff organize and help with all the kids. The best part was that when there was a spill the amazing staff came right over and cleaned it up. The kids have a blast and it’s fun for everyone. Parties are only available at the Lehi location.
Pricing:
Cost varies depending on the party package and it can be $10- $16 a person. It’s a great cost that includes everything from the food decorations to entertainment. This party makes my list as great indoor birthday party fun! Call them for details and availability.
Mountainland Applied Technology College Cosmetology
This is the cutest birthday party for little girls. I don’t think a lot of moms know about this. It’s at the college campuses of the MATC at Thanksgiving Point and Spanish Fork. The cosmetology department offers parties.
Cost:
For only $7 per girl, the students will do a hair updo, makeup, and finger nail polish. The girls are pampered and have so much fun getting dolled up. They are all so great at the hair and makeup and so sweet with the little girls. You can call to set up an appointment at 801-753-4169.
California Pizza Kitchen Pizza and Tour Party
This is the cutest party idea. California Pizza Kitchen offers FREE tours and a pizza party. The kids show up before the restaurant opens at 10 am on a Saturday. It starts with a tour that goes behind the scenes in the kitchen and shows the kids how a restaurant is run.
Make Your Own Pizza!
After the tour, the kids go to the front and sit at a table that’s set up with all the pizza toppings they have as well as sauce in bowls to make their own pizza. The chef shows the kids how to throw the dough and lets the kids take turns throwing the dough.
They were really great about having the kids wash their hands before making the pizzas which I loved. Then the kids wait and watch their pizzas getting cooked in the pizza oven. For an extra cost, you can get the birthday child a darling chef’s jacket that is embroidered with their name on it. The cost is amazing and is only the cost of the kid’s pizza which is $5.50.
Then you can purchase their cake or dessert for the birthday or you can just bring your own cake and have presents and do it all there. This is offered at all CPK’s. It’s their way of giving back to the community. It’s such a fun and different party that every child is sure to love. Each child also leaves with a free kid’s meal for when they come back. How cool is that!? I went to the Orem CPK and they were incredibly nice; the managers are amazing and so fun with the kids. I definitely recommend calling them at their Orem location.
Funtopia in Lehi
This is every kid’s dream. The name says it all. It is where you have FUN and Funtopia. They offer birthday parties. It is located in Lehi and is the only location in Utah. The cost includes an hour and half of play time and 30 minutes in the party room. You bring your own cake and pizza or birthday food if you want. But it’s so fun you could not even worry about food and plan it so kids eat before.
Pricing:
Funtopia’s party cost is $185 for about 10 kids. I know I’ve spent more throwing parties at the house when you add everything up.
It’s a climbing gym and entertainment center with a super fun slide and all things kids love. They stay busy climbing, jumping, and swinging on ropes.
One unique feature is a wall they have to answer questions to get to the top. They also have a pirate-themed rock wall, a skyscraper, beanstalk climbing wall, and more. They have a cute print out for invitations. It is so much fun!!
iFLY – Ogden, Utah
This is a birthday party your child is SURE to remember forever. It’s at iFLY Utah, located in Ogden, where they feature indoor skydiving. iFLYoffers parties and has a great party room that you can bring presents and cake for after. This is something special and unique for your child’s next birthday.
Cost:
iFLY has a package deal for 5 kids that costs $235. It can be not only your child’s birthday present but their party too. We checked it out and it was amazing and an experience of a lifetime. They have children as young as 3 flying so it is great for the whole family.
The entire party is an experience from watching the training video, to getting suited up and taking turns flying. My kids absolutely loved it. I’m not a super daredevil, but I did it and loved every minute.
You don’t have to know what you’re doing they take care of it all and a professional is in there the whole time with you. The facility is amazing. Professional skydivers come from all over to practice their skills and skydive. Yes, it’s that good.
