Budget Stocking Stuffers and Small Gifts for Toddler and Preschool Girls

October 14, 2018 By Melanie

Stocking Stuffers for Toddler and Preschool Girls

She asks you every day when Santa is coming. She knows about the reindeer and enjoys listening to Christmas music. She may even have asked you to write a letter to the big man himself. In general, though, those toys are big and she may even have asked for a pony. This leaves mom and dad with the burning question: What small, fun toys can we include in our preschooler’s stocking? Here’s a list of 25 items that would make perfect stocking stuffers for 2-year-old to 4-year-old girls, alongside that traditional Christmas orange.

How to Choose Stocking Stuffers for Toddlers and Preschoolers

  • Expand her imagination. Choose a gift that will help your little girl use her imagination. The toddler and preschool ages are such a magic time to explore imagination.
  • Enhance her mind. Anyone who has spent time with a toddler or preschooler knows their minds are like sponges. The more they are exposed to learning activities, the more quickly they will progress intellectually.
  • Express her creativity. Kids enjoy creating, whether it’s with crayons, paint, beads, or any other supplies. Art supplies are always a good gift for any age.
  • Entice her taste buds. A sweet or salty treat rounds off any Christmas stocking or gift.

Beverly Hills Kids Pretend Play Makeup Cosmetic Kit

Beverly Hills Kids Pretend Play Makeup Cosmetic Kit

If your little girl is always begging to play with mommy’s makeup, this makeup kit would make a great stocking stuffer for a 3-year-old girl. Although the pallets look real, they’re not, so your toddler won’t make a mess of her face (and your house!) while she’s practicing eyeshadow.

Play Circle by Battat Princess Purse Set

Toddlers and preschoolers love to carry purses around and fill them full of goodies. This purse contains a phone, wallet, keys, mirror, play lipstick, and heart-shaped sunglasses, and it’ll make your 2-year-old girl feel just like her mom!

Melissa & Doug Paint With Water Activity Books Set

For another mess-free Christmas activity, include one of these paint with water books. Your kids can still express their creativity without you worrying about cleaning up messy paints. This set includes 3 activity books.

Webkinz Arctic Polar Bear Plush

Webkinz creatures are particularly exciting for kids, not just because they’re cute, but because each one comes with a code that allows them access to a fun online game where their pet can play. It’s a perfect stocking stuffer for a 4-year-old girl or preschooler who likes to play on the computer.

Educational Insights Playfoam

Educational Insights Playfoam

Most toddlers have and love Play-Doh, but has yours ever played with Playfoam? It’s a molding foam that never dries out, doesn’t leave an oily residue on your hands, and is extremely addicting to play with. It’ll bring hours of Christmas Day fun and beyond.

Nuby Octopus Hoopla Bathtime Fun Toys

The Book With No Pictures

The Book With No Pictures

A book with no pictures? Sounds… boring, doesn’t it? That’s the joke. Because there are no pictures, the book is full of lots of funny phrases and words that the reader has to say, so it keeps kids laughing the entire time. Every preschool-aged girl I know says this is her favorite book!

The Polar Express

The Polar Express

How cute would it be to start a Christmas tradition of including a new Christmas movie in your child’s stocking every year? The Polar Express is a great choice for 2 to 4-year-olds because it beautifully captures the magic of Santa’s Workshop and the spirit of the season. This movie is available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa Envelopes

No stocking is complete without a little treat, and these hot chocolate envelopes are the perfect size. They would pair perfectly with “The Polar Express” because you could drink your hot chocolate as a family while the elves sing the “Hot Chocolate!” song.

Oral-B Kids Battery Power Toothbrush featuring Disney Princess Characters

An odd tradition my family had every year was that every child would receive a toothbrush for Christmas. The logic is sound, though. It’s something you need, but it’s one more present to open on Christmas morning. These Disney Princess toothbrushes are really cute and would make any little toddler happy.

Foam Reindeer Holiday Ornament Kit by Fun Express

It’s never too early to get kids started on reading basics. This fantastic wipe-clean book helps your little girl learn letters, numbers, and animals. She will enjoy writing with the dry erase marker and then wiping it clean so she can write again. This book is filled with beautiful illustrations that make learning fun!

You may be skeptical about buying your toddler an office supply for Christmas, but trust me on this: Pens with multiple color options are really cool. I had one when I was a girl and I found it so fascinating that it became one of my favorite toys. This would be a great gift, especially for an older toddler.

Emosa Nail Polish

Emosa Nail Polish

Does your daughter beg you to paint her nails? She will love to receive these cute nail polish bottles of her own. This water-based nail polish is 100% non-toxic and easy to remove. (Rather than using that strong nail polish remover, all you have to do is soak her nails in water for 1-2 minutes.) This kit comes with six bright colors for her to try.

PEZ Despicable Me Twin Pack

PEZ Despicable Me Twin Pack

It’s totally a throwback to the 90s, but what 2-year-old doesn’t love getting a Pez Dispenser in their stocking? This dispenser is Despicable Me themed, plus it comes with six rolls of candy. It’s the perfect size for a stocking and a unique Christmas Day treat.

POOF Neon Slinky

POOF Neon Slinky

This toy is much less common in households now than it was ten years ago, but that doesn’t make it any less fun! Teach your 3-year-old girl how a Slinky can “walk” down the stairs and she’ll be thrilled to play with it for hours.

Hoyle Kid's 6 in 1 Fun Pack- Card Games

Teach your child how to play card games with these first-time card games. The set includes Memory, Crazy Eights, Go Fish, Slapjack, Old Maid, and Matching. It’s a great gift to promote learning and group play. It makes a great stocking stuffer for a 4-year-old girl.

Ehdching 6pairs Kids Cartoon Christmas Socks

Ehdching 6pairs Kids Cartoon Christmas Socks

Everyone’s got to have a quality pair of Christmas socks! These socks are made from a soft, heavy material and won’t wear out as quickly as some cheaply-made Christmas socks do. She may end up wanting to wear them all year long.

The items you choose to include in your 2-4-year-old’s stocking will depend entirely on her personality and what you feel will make her excited on Christmas Day. Don’t let that stress you out, though! Enjoy your time being Santa and try to keep the day simple and focused on family time. We hope you have a Happy Holiday Season, and Merry Christmas from Mommy High Five!
