I love my man! He is a great husband, a wonderful dad, provides for our needs, and has so many wonderful qualities that I could go on and on about. But there is one area that he kinda struggles with and that is gift giving. And he will be the first one to tell you this; it’s no secret.
Sometimes he has no clue what to get me. Sometimes he thinks he has a great idea but doesn’t really know if it is, so instead of keeping it a secret he will just come out and ask me if it is something he thinks I will like before he even gives it to me. Sometimes he will call my mom and get ideas from her, and sometimes I find him running out the door the night before Mother’s Day or Christmas just to grab anything from the store. And he is not the only man to struggle with gift giving!! Am I right ladies?? Do any of these scenarios sound familiar with you and your man? I have heard some of my close friends tell very similar stories of their husbands.
So instead of dropping subtle hints to those men in our lives, we here at Mommy High Five thought it would be a good idea to help out those men in our own lives and just come right out and tell them what we want for Mother’s Day this year. We figured we would help them out!! And our hope in doing this is that if you are shopping for that perfect gift for that special lady in your life, we have taken out the hard part…..we know what moms want. It is not a vacuum, (we are tired of cleaning) it is not a toaster, (we are tired of cooking) it is not another set of oven mitts (again, we are tired of cooking). So here is what the moms at Mommy High Five want for Mother’s Day!
Dear Mr. Mommy High Five (AKA Secretary Legs),
Thanks so much for making such an awesome effort to make my Mother’s Day awesome. I love breakfast in bed and I love all the little handmade notes from the kids. What I would really like from you this year is a fruit infused water bottle!
Since I’ve been trying to be more health conscious this past year, I think this is the perfect gift for me. I’m tired of just boring ol’ water. I think this will help me spice it up a little so that I am still drinking the amount of water that I am supposed to but not getting bored.
This particular infused bottle has an extra large infuser so you can fit a whole cut up apple or lemons and limes in the bottle. It holds 31 oz of water so I won’t have to refill it as often. And it comes with a recipe e-book, FUN!! It can even be washed in the dishwasher on the top shelf, score!! I’m digging it for sure.
I would also love a 3 wick candle from Bath and Body Works. I am loving all the Aloha scents they have come out with. I am a sucker for anything coconuty and fruity together. They smell so yummy! When I light one they make me feel like I am sitting on a beach sipping a fruity drink and reading a book instead of changing poopy diapers and folding laundry while breaking up a wrestling match.
There are always online coupons to Bed Bath & Beyond or if you would rather stay in your basketball shorts and not leave the house, there are some scents that can be purchased from Amazon for a slightly higher price.
I would also like a nap. Nuff said!
With much love,
Butter Hips AKA Mrs. Mommy High Five Amanda
Dear Husband J,
It’s that time of year again: the time when you get to think up gifts for both your mother and your wife. That’s right; Mother’s Day is just around the corner. This year I am going to make it easier for you. You know how much time I spend in the car driving kids here, there, and everywhere. I need to be available by phone, but it is hard to pull over every time the phone rings. That means missed calls, which could mean canceled soccer practice, sick kids at school, reminders about doctor appointments, or a host of other issues that I am not aware of in time.
This year for Mother’s Day, I need the Plantronics M180 Universal Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth Headset.
This headset has a long battery life, great audio clarity, and a built-in tracker to find it with a smartphone if the headset ever gets misplaced. This Plantronics headset is compatible with any smartphone. Even better, it is very affordable.
With this headset, I will be able to use voice control to answer my phone or make phone calls hands-free! That means no more missed phone calls, and that means a happy wife. You can thank me later for saving you so much time and effort in searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift. Just remember the Plantronics M180 Universal Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth Headset. While you are at it, get one for your mom, too, and kill two birds with one stone.
Love,
Your wife Susan
To My Boo,
As you know it’s Mother’s Day. It’s the best day of the whole year. The day I get breakfast in bed with Eggo waffles that the kids toasted and orange juice in a wine glass. And, if you thought ahead, even flowers and fresh fruit.
I love my funny card and all the kids jumping on the bed. It really is so special and I cry every time the kids get me the heart Walmart necklace or the card that says my age is 10 and my weight is 20 pounds. But you’re busy, mama knows.
So, here is a little help of what I would love from you. No stress or worry, just click or even buy it online and print it out on the printer and hand it to me. Easy for everyone.
I would love a massage and a day to not worry about who will watch the kids when I set up an appointment and have to rush back to the babysitter. A wonderful relaxing mommy moment to decompress and relax. I would love that so much!
A day for me. I’ll grab lunch out and then get a massage and maybe some window shopping.
Also, I’ve had my eye on this Alex and Ani Bracelet too… wink wink.
Love you Boo!!!!!

Hey Honey,
Did you know that Mothers Day is just a month away? I’m sure you probably already have a list of possible gifts ideas on a little app on your phone, right?
I admit I’ve have dropped some hints here and there, and we both know how good you are at picking up on those, little hints…BUT
I was thinking this year I’d ease your mind and give you a few suggestions of things that I’ve had my eye on. I know you prefer to surprise me (yikes), and as much as that chair massager from Walgreens last year was a thoughtful gift, (note sarcasm) I don’t want you to have undue stress thinking about that perfect gift.
I mean, how can a simple gift do justice in expressing your immense love and gratitude to me for being the beautiful mother of our five crazy, rather messy, and at times ungrateful children? No need to thank me for going to the trouble, I just don’t want you to have to wait until the last minute to run to the mall, or worry that Amazon Prime two-day shipping really does mean two days.
And while I’ll list a few things that would help me feel appreciated on Mother’s Day, I’m not implying I need them all; I just know you like to have options.

Aspen Bay Jar Volcano Candle, 21.5 Ounce, Capri Blue
The first time I saw this candle, it was burning at Anthropologie. The whole store smelled amazing! I wanted one so badly and smelled that candle over and over, but couldn’t justify it at the time. You don’t even have to go to Anthropologie to pick one up; Amazon has it on sale for around $27. Since we are Prime members, you know it will come quick.
The Volcano is a fresh scent and works all year round, not too spicy for just the holidays, and doesn’t smell like coconut oil for summer. Every time I see it in a boutique, I can’t help but pick it up and give it a good smell. It’s kind of like my happy place. It even comes in different colors and jars to match different rooms in the house.

Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
You know I like makeup, and now that Spring is here, I don’t like to wear a heavy foundation and get sweaty and sticky as the weather gets warmer. Last year on a whim, I tried this NARS tinted moisturizer and loved it. I didn’t have to wear powder or concealer over it, and it even has sunblock in it. It made my skin look dewy and slightly tanned. It was perfection. Naturally I used up the whole darn thing.
You can even buy it on-line so you won’t feel embarrassed going into a cosmetics store like Sephora to pick it up. For $44, it’s a steal since that’s the only foundation type product I have to use. In fact, if you want to just get me a $50 gift card to Sephora or Ulta so I can pick up some lipsticks or skin care products, it certainly wouldn’t hurt my feelings.

Audible Subscription
Ok, so you know how much I love to read, but finding time to actually sit down with a book, and not be interrupted is almost impossible. An Audible subscription could solve that problem. For $15 a month I could download almost any book, anywhere, any genre, and listen to it while I’m up and around doing dishes, folding laundry, or driving carpool, you get the idea. I’m always listening to podcasts, but they end too soon and I have to wait for a new episode. With an Audible subscription, I would have access to any book I’ve been dying to read, but don’t have time to make that happen. Just like a good TV series, I would know I always have a book to listen to and look forward to, even while doing all my normal day to day things. Just think of all the money we would save if I stopped buying books on my kindle or at the bookstore that sit there unread. In fact, is this something you would like for Father’s Day?
With Love,
Ashli
Dear Handsome Man,
I thought I would help you out and give you an idea for Mother’s Day that would make me a super happy momma. I would really love a new staple product for my wardrobe which is this Tom’s Ware Midi Dress. I really like this because they have such fun prints for summer.
They can be dressed up for a hot night out on the town or dressed down for a playdate at the park. The sizing chart is pretty accurate, but if you are on the fence about two sizes I would pick the bigger size as it is a tight fitting dress. Some of the most popular prints are navy, green, pink floral & solid black. This dress is very feminine plus looks great on pretty much any body type! I know you can’t deny that I would look super hot in it!
Making you wife happy for under $25 dollars? Now that’s one heck of a deal! Pretty Pretty Please!!!
Love
Your Wife & Baby Momma, Ashley
And there you have it! Hopefully having five different moms share with their hubbies what they want this year helps you come up with ideas! And the best part about what we want….most of the shopping can be done at home in your underwear! You’re welcome!!
Just another little tip:
No matter what you end up getting us, there is a common interest that all moms around the world love. We love those little homemade trinkets and do-dads made from chubby little sticky fingers. We love pictures and art projects of handprints and drawings of us as stick figures with no bodies just heads with legs. We love hearing what our kids have to say about the way they feel about us and how much they love us on paper so we can read it over and over again. We love flowers. And we love naps. Am I right ladies?
