Welcome to Mommy High Five! Thanks for stopping by. Our goal here at Mommy High Five is to hopefully make your life a little simpler. We get it! You’re tired. You’re stressed. You’re overwhelmed. We are right in the thick of it with you. Hopefully, by visiting us you can get the feeling that we are all in this together and we have your back.
Here you will find tips and tricks on making your life a little bit easier. These ideas come because these are experiences that we are going through right now, and we want to share with you what is working for us. You will also find products that we have researched out and know quite a bit about. Most of these products we use and love and feel most moms could benefit from. Some products are ones that we would like to try out ourselves so we decided to research it out and share information we learned with you in case it’s something you would like to try too.
Be sure to check back regularly as we will be changing almost daily!! If there is a tip or trick or a product that you would like us to talk abou,t please let us know and we will do our best to share what we know.
Good luck today cleaning up that entire box of Cheerios off the floor, cleaning the lipstick-stained mirror, finding something other than pancakes to cook for dinner, and breaking up the wrestling match later this afternoon. My hope for you is that at some point today you may find time to pee by yourself, find the inner strength to deal with the constant whining, and soak in every single “I love you” and “You are my best friend”.
Why We Started Mommy High Five and Where We’re Headed
After five years working as a full-time blogger, I’d been itching to do work together with Amanda. I’m with her and our five kids in our house each and every single day. I see the struggles she faces with the kids, the monotony of being a stay-at-home mom, and the other real world challenges she faces.
One thing I’ve felt some guilt about over the years is that my wife has a college degree just like I do but doesn’t get to use it in a professional setting. Don’t get me wrong: I think women raising children do get to use their degree in the many life challenges they face around the home. I just wanted her to feel like she had a voice.
We’ve had the idea to do a website together for a while, but it wasn’t until recently that we came up with the idea for this website, Mommy High Five. Mommy because parenting is what we do and know the best, and high five as a way to show that we’re all in this together to help each other out. Five also happens to be the number of kids we have and the number of product recommendations we give.
After discussing the idea with Amanda, we wanted to find a way to allow other moms to have a voice too. Running a full-time blog is something that many moms don’t have time for. So here at Mommy High Five our contributors write as little or as much as they want to.
Starting out we have a few bloggers we’ve invited personally to join us. As we grow, we’ll be continuing to invite and expand the number of contributors we have!
If you’re enjoying the blog, be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
